India ‘strongly’ took up with China detention of woman from Arunachal Pradesh at Shanghai airport: MEA

A day after an Indian citizen from Arunachal Pradesh was detained at the Shanghai international airport as Chinese officials refused to recognise her Indian passport, Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said India had taken up the case with the Chinese authorities “strongly” and reiterated that Arunachal Pradesh is an “inalienable” part of India. “Arunachal Pradesh is an integral and inalienable part of India, and this is a self-evident fact. No amount of denial by the Chinese side is going to change this indisputable reality,” said Mr. Jaiswal after the Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson said the individual concerned — Prema Wangjom Thongdok — was treated as per Chinese laws.

Trump sends Witkoff to Moscow after ‘fine-tuned plan’ to end war

U.S. President Donald Trump said on Tuesday (November 25, 2025) his plan to end the war in Ukraine has been “fine-tuned” and he’s sending envoy Steve Witkoff to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Army Secretary Dan Driscoll to meet with Ukrainian officials. He suggested he could eventually meet with Mr. Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, but not until further progress has been made in negotiations. “I will be briefed on all progress made, along with Vice President J.D. Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, and White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles,” Mr. Trump added in the social media posting.
