China denies allegation of harassment of Indian woman at Shanghai airport
China on Tuesday (November 25, 2025) refuted allegations that an Indian woman from Arunachal Pradesh was harassed at Shanghai airport, saying the actions taken by the Chinese immigration officials were as per laws and regulations. Prema Wangjom Thongdok, a U.K.-based Indian citizen who was travelling from London to Japan on November 21, claimed that her three-hour scheduled layover turned into a traumatising ordeal after immigration personnel declared her passport “invalid” solely because it listed Arunachal Pradesh as her birthplace.
Civil Aviation Ministry says it is closely monitoring the Ethiopia volcanic ash plumes situation
The Civil Aviation Ministry, along with the Air Traffic Control and India Meteorological Department (IMD), are closely monitoring the situation of ash plumes from the Hayli Gubbi volcanic eruption in Ethiopia impacting flight operations. Some flights have been cancelled, and many have been delayed due to the ash plumes.
