Nov. 24 (UPI) -- A Georgia man's wife's birthday brought him some extra luck when he bought a scratch-off lottery ticket and scored a $10,000 prize.
Gainesville resident Preston Fuqua told Georgia Lottery officials he stopped at the Chevron on Price Road in Gainesville and bought a Georgia Millionaire scratch-off ticket.
Fuqua, who had taken the day off for his wife's birthday, called his spouse when he uncovered a $10,000 prize.
He said his wife didn't believe him until he visited the Georgia Lottery office in Duluth and sent her a photo of him holding the giant novelty check.
Fuqua said his winnings will be put to good use.
