President Donald Trump’s surprisingly cordial Oval Office meeting with New York City Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani on Friday not only attracted lots of attention on social media, but it also inspired one Fox News host to troll Vice President JD Vance.“I think JD Vance is jealous,” said Brian Kilmeade. “I think the president wants to use [Mamdani] as a running mate. They got along fantastic.”During the meeting, Trump seemed to forget all the insults he’s made about Mamdani ― such as “a 100% Communist Lunatic” ― and even told the mayor-elect it was OK to call him a fascist.He also dismissed accusations by New York Republican Elise Stefanik that Mamdani is “a jihadist,” saying he didn’t agree with that assessment, but she’s campaigning and you say things sometimes in a campaign.” Kilmeade’s “jealous” and Mamdani-as-running-mate comments might have been a bit of a burn for Vance, but remember, Trump isn’t eligible to run for a third term, so there probably won’t be a need to swap vice presidents.If Vance did see it as a slight, he didn’t mention it in his sole post about the Trump-Mamdani meeting.
