The phenomenon has been hardly studied, and the ever-renewing flow has never before been analyzed. It highlights the fault lines surrounding the public remembrance of the attacks and exposes ongoing attempts by hardline identity groups to hijack the narrative for their own ideological purposes. Added to this is the new role artificial intelligence now plays in shaping opinion and mobilizing users on social media platforms.

Did the 2015 Paris attacks give rise to a 'Bataclan generation' within the far right?

Using AI models we developed, we analyzed the number of public mentions of the term "Bataclan" on the social network X between November 12, 2024, and October 23, 2025, taking care to exclude the period of official commemorations. The result: 465,112 posts, nearly one mention per minute, more than 122,000 unique authors and no fewer than 52 distinct themes.
