Minister for Roads and Buildings B.C. Janardhan Reddy on Wednesday (November 19) said investment proposals worth ₹13 lakh crore at the recent CII Partnership Summit in Visakhapatnam reflected renewed trust in the Coalition government led by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu.
Addressing a press conference here, the Minister said the government accelerated industrial clearances through the single-window mechanism and rolled out policy frameworks for all major departments. The Minister observed that Google’s entry into Andhra Pradesh would spur further industrial activity in Rayalaseema and North Andhra.
On infrastructure, Mr. Reddy said the Coalition government took up ₹4,000 crore worth of road development and completed repairs of ₹1,058 crore soon after coming to power. He criticised the previous government for neglecting road renewals and NDB-funded projects, adding that pending bills had now been cleared to restart these works.
He said the government’s immediate priority was to make the State’s roads pothole-free and that additional stretches would be upgraded under the C-category works.
