The Atal Incubation Centre-Pondicherry Engineering College Foundation (AIC-PECF), the incubation facility at Puducherry Technological University (PTU) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with AIC FAST, the incubation centre of Kalpakkam Atomic Research Centre (IGCAR).

The partnership will help to foster innovation in the field of cutting-edge ‘Deeptech’ technologies (intensive, long-term research and development (R&D) for large-impact solutions for global challenges) and build national innovation capabilities, a press note said.

The MoU was signed recently at the IGCAR campus by C.G. Karadkar, Director, IGCAR and AIC FAST, and R. Sundaramurthy, Managing Director, AIC-PEC Foundation and Registrar (In-Charge), PTU.

The agreement was signed and exchanged in the presence of N. Subramanian (Director, AIC FAST and Head, DAE Incubation Centre, IGCAR), Vishnu Varadhan (Chief Executive Officer, AIC PECF), Anita Toppo (Senior Scientific Officer, DAE IC-IGCAR), members of the AIC FAST coordination committee and the executive committee of AIC PECF.

With this new agreement, the two centres will provide incubation services to startups in Puducherry and Tamil Nadu. Besides facilitating transfer of technical expertise, they will provide the startups with new technologies required. IGCAR scientists and professors from PTU will provide technical advice and support to these start-ups.
