Three individuals were arrested and over 10 kilograms of ganja was seized in two separate operations by the State Task Force (STF) of the Telangana Excise and Prohibition Department on Tuesday.
In the first case, the STF personnel intercepted a car near Bollarum Bazaar railway station. Inside, they found two accused, identified as Pooja Bai and Satyam Rao alias Sonulu, who were selling ganja from the vehicle.
Investigations revealed that they got 10 kilograms of ganja from Nanded, Maharashtra, and had already sold around 3 kilograms. The remaining 7.043 kilograms, along with the car and mobile phones, were seized.
A case has also been registered against Pooja Bai’s husband Akash Singh and the supplier, who are currently absconding. The seized material and accused have been handed over to the Secunderabad excise station.
In a second raid, the STFC C team acted on inputs regarding ganja sales near Venu Gopala Swamy Temple on the BHEL–Chandanagar stretch. They arrested Narendra Kumar Pasetti from Odisha, who was selling ganja chocolates and ganja packets.
