Abill on ensuring fast first aid in the case of potentially fatal emergency events like heart attacks was presented Monday, named after Edoardo 'Edo' Bove, the Fiorentina player who dramatically collapsed and was saved in December 2024 during a Serie A game against Inter.

Speaking at the presentation of the bill filed by the Azione Senators Marco Lombardo and Carlo Calenda, the centrist party's leader and former industry minister, 'Edo' was visibly moved.

Edoardo was lucky compared to others on that December 1 2024 when at the Franchi Stadium in Florence during Fiorentina-Inter he fell to the ground due to a heart attack.

The speed of the intervention meant that today the former Fiorentina footballer becomes the name and testimonial of the "Bove Law on first aid", presented by senators Lombardo and Calenda.

A bill divided into seven articles to address the numbers that today show how in Italy around 65,000 people lose their lives due to failures or delays in first aid.
