The third edition of the Indian Military Heritage Festival began on Friday (November 14, 2025), with Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth underscoring the importance of preserving and learning from India’s military past.
“Our history is our heritage, and we must preserve it in books and learn from it to further strengthen our military might,” Mr. Seth said at the inaugural session of the two-day event (November 14 and 15). “This festival gives us an opportunity to connect with our glorious military traditions and heroic tales and inspire us for the future.”
Addressing the gathering, Mr. Seth said that understanding India’s military history is not just a matter of pride but a way to build a stronger foundation for self-reliance and national security.
Emphasising the need for a resilient domestic defence ecosystem, he noted that increasing participation from industry and young innovators reflects the nation’s collective resolve to boost long-term strategic capability and expand global defence engagement.
During the event, the Minister released several key publications, including Shukra Niti: Statecraft and Warfare, Honours and Awards of the Indian Armed Forces, and a volume marking 75 years of India’s peacekeeping efforts.
