Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) on Thursday accused men in Congress of engaging in a dick-measuring contest and bluntly disagreed with President Donald Trump. On CNN no less. (Watch the videos below.)
The conservative firebrand has raised eyebrows lately by siding with Democrats on health care and other issues. This week a report attributed her shift to a possible run for president in 2028. (She denied it). Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) claimed Greene is on a “revenge tour” because Trump allegedly “shut down” her Senate hopes. (Greene denied that, too).
In an interview with CNN’s Kaitlan Collins, Greene acknowledged that Republicans are shouldering more blame for the shutdown because the public realizes that the GOP controls both chambers of Congress. She later launched her somewhat-G-rated, below-the-belt dig at male colleagues.
“I put blame on both Republicans and Democrats for basically, Kaitlan, um, I can’t say it on CNN, but it’s basically a you-know-what measuring contest between the men and leadership and I think the country is sick and tired of it.”
Collins let out a delayed laugh and asked her to identify the Republican men she has called “weak.” Greene didn’t bite, but she said many of her GOP colleagues who didn’t support Trump suddenly changed their mind when they saw he was going to win. “They ran out and bought their first MAGA hat,” she said.
