A glitch in the air traffic control system at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport caused widespread delays for departing flights, triggering a cascading impact that disrupted air traffic across the country.
Between 5 a.m. and 2 p.m., more than 265 departing from IGI were delayed, as per tracking website flightradar24.
The airport handles an average of 63 aircraft movements (landings and departures) per hour, adding up to around 1,500 movements a day.
