Multiple air traffic controllers have told Forbes they expect large numbers of colleagues to quit their jobs in the coming days—which will compound the pressure on remaining controllers during the shutdown and exacerbate the ongoing shortage.
“Hundreds” of air traffic controllers will leave their jobs beginning Friday “if they see a $0 pay statement,” multiple controllers told Forbes.
Controllers are set to receive a pay statement Friday notifying them of a second missed paycheck on Tuesday.
