The 10-year Treasury
yield fell Tuesday as investors weighed the state of the economy and looked ahead to a speech by Federal Reserve Vice Chair for Supervision Michelle Bowman.
The benchmark yield fell around 2 basis point to 4.085%. The 2-year Treasury note yield also fell over 2 basis point to 3.57%. The 30-year bond yield was more than 2 basis points lower at 4.667%.
One basis point equals 0.01% and yields and prices move in opposite directions.
The U.S. government shutdown will likely continue this week, delaying the release of the JOLTS report, Commonwealth Bank of Australia wrote in a daily note.
