Kelly Ripa would like to apologize to Taylor Swift for what the talk show host feels is a ghastly offense.

“I've been Taylor Swift now for the past, like, 15 years and honestly, at my advanced age, they have to stop making me Taylor Swift,” Ripa tells USA TODAY. “It's not fair to Taylor! It's actually rude. We're being rude to Taylor at this point.”

At 55, Ripa is 19 years older than the “Fate of Ophelia” crooner, who turns 36 in December. On last year’s “Live with Kelly and Mark” Halloween extravaganze, Ripa and her husband of 29 years and cohost of 2.5, Mark Consuelos, parodied Swift and her fiancé Travis Kelce at the U.S. Open. This year, USA TODAY can exclusively reveal that on the Oct. 31 show, the hosts will spoof the 2025 moment that left the world gobsmacked: when Kelce proposed in his backyard, as revealed in a joint, Internet-breaking Instagram post.

For this year’s “It’s Trending” theme, “Live” also takes costume inspiration from recent pop culture phenomena like “Love Island” “Severance,” Mahjong, the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders, Benson Boone and Labubu (via a knockoff dubbed “lafufu”).

“Once again, in the grand tradition of us, we have no idea what we are,” says Ripa, who admittedly isn’t able to stay on top every trend or meme. “I was Chappell Roan, who I (mispronounced) as Chapelle Rowahn. That's how old I am! And my daughter (24-year-old singer Lola Consuelos) was like, ‘Ew! What did you say?’”
