The Left Democratic Government is considering to pause its agreement with the Central Government to secure federal funding for school education, after ally Communist Party of India (CPI) accused the Pinarayi Vijayan-led government of unilaterally signing on to the “reactionary and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS)-inspired National Education Policy (NEP) linked PM-SHRI scheme.
CPI State Secretary Binoy Viswam and CPI(M) general secretary M.A. Baby separately confirmed the development to The Hindu on Wednesday (October 29, 2025).
