Comedian Jon Stewart said he’s trying to remain at “The Daily Show” as the expiration of his contract looms in December.Asked Sunday by The New Yorker’s David Remnick if he will renew his deal with the Comedy Central political show, Stewart told the New Yorker Festival audience, per Deadline:“We’re working on staying. Look, the other thing to remember is it’s not as clear-cut as all that … They’ve already done things that I’m upset about. (The company is now called Paramount Skydance.) He also openly questioned his employer’s claim that fierce Trump critic Stephen Colbert and “The Late Show” are going dark forever on CBS ― a fellow network under the Paramount Skydance umbrella ― in May due to a financial decision.CBS News also appears to be taking a turn to the right with the hiring of Bari Weiss as editor-in-chief.
