LOS ANGELES — Cindy Crawford and daughter Kaia Gerber are seeking protection from a man they say has been harassing Gerber in-person and on social media.
In a petition for a civil harassment restraining order against Daniel Lee Schoonover – a 35-year-old man from Illinois – filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court on Oct. 17 and obtained by USA TODAY on Oct. 20, Crawford alleged multiple "concerning" incidents in which Schoonover arrived at her and husband Rande Gerber's home looking for their daughter.
She also claimed the man posts "incessant" comments on Kaia's Instagram account that threatened to kill herself and her husband and expressed a desire "to be in a romantic relationship with, father a child with and harm Kaia."
Gerber, 24, also filed her own request for a restraining order on Oct. 17.
On Oct. 20, the mother and daughter's requests for a TRO were granted until their court hearing, scheduled for Nov. 7.
