The ongoing Statewide Socio and Educational Survey has covered over 5.7 crore people across Karnataka, including areas under Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) so far, according to data compiled till October 16.
Excluding the GBA limits, survey teams have completed enumeration in 1.41 crore households, achieving 95.2% of the total target of 1.48 crore households. The surveyed population in these areas stands at 5.22 crore, reflecting 85.7% progress against the projected population.
In the GBA, the survey has so far covered 17.2 lakh households — about 38.3% of the targeted 39.8 lakh households — and a population of 53.4 lakh. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is scheduled to review the progress of the exercise on October 19, when a decision is expected on whether to extend the survey period further.
