Officers of the Central Secretariat Service (CSS) on Tuesday (October 14, 2025) held a peace march at Shastri Bhawan and staged a sit-in protest outside the office of the Social Justice Secretary over what they termed “prolonged inaction” on the allegations of workplace harassment levelled by Ministry official Deepak Khoda.
The 33-year-old official had attempted to kill himself weeks ago after alleging workplace harassment. His father subsequently filed a police complaint at the Kartavya Path police station. Mr. Khoda, a Central government employee, survived a fall from the seventh floor of the Shastri Bhawan building in New Delhi.
On Tuesday, CSS officers protested at the government office complex, stating that despite a police complaint, no action had been initiated against the senior official accused in the case — either by the Social Justice Ministry or the Department of Personnel and Training. They added that the Delhi Police was yet to register an FIR on the complaint filed by Mr. Khoda’s father, R.S. Meena, a district education officer in the Rajasthan government.
Ministry officials said that during the eight years Mr. Khoda had been working with the Social Justice Ministry, no formal or informal complaint of workplace harassment had been recorded. Regarding the recent allegations, a senior official said that the police were the “appropriate authority” to take action in the matter.
