India and Canada on Monday (October 13, 2025) agreed on a series of measures to restore relations after talks between External Affairs Minister Jaishankar and Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand. Ms. Anand is currently in India on an official visit. Among the major announcements, both sides agreed to begin at the earliest their ministerial-level discussions on bilateral trade and investments, re-establish the Canada-India Ministerial Energy Dialogue for cooperation on renewables and critical minerals, relaunch the Joint Science and Technology Cooperation Committee, and encourage Canadian AI companies and researchers to participate in India’s AI Impact Summit from February 19 to 20, 2026.
