Israel-Iran conflict: Trump says Israel has to stop bombing Iran

U.S. President Donald Trump said that Israel has to calm down after he said both Israel and Iran violated a ceasefire he tried to broker. A tentative truce faltered when Israel accused Iran of launching missiles into its airspace after the ceasefire was supposed to take effect and vowed to retaliate. Iran’s military denied firing on Israel, state media reported. U.S. President Donald Trump told reporters at the White House before departing for the NATO summit at The Hague that in his view, both sides had violated the nascent agreement he had announced earlier.

All polls held as per law: ECI tells Rahul on Maharashtra poll rigging allegations

The Election Commission has formally written to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on his allegations of rigging in the 2024 Maharashtra polls, saying all polls are held by it strictly as per laws passed by Parliament and rules. It also emphasised that the entire poll exercise involves thousands of personnel, including booth-level agents appointed by political parties. In a letter emailed to Mr. Gandhi on June 12 in response to his article in a leading daily, the poll panel said the entire election process is conducted in a decentralised manner at the assembly constituency level
