Amid a government shutdown that’s poised to stretch into a third week, President Donald Trump has unveiled a new line of luxury wrist watches bearing his signature and the slogan “TRUMP 45-47.”
Ads for the new “Fight, Fight, Fight” watches, which retail between $499 and $799, began appearing regularly on the conservative news channel Newsmax.
“Wear it proudly on your wrist and everyone will know exactly what it’s for, who it’s for, who it represents,” Trump says in one of the clips. “It’s really going to be something special. It’s for your favorite president.”
Journalist Aaron Rupar shared footage of the ad to his X account Thursday, where it has since been viewed more than 5.4 million times and drawn an assortment of polarized responses.
“This is a serious issue of impropriety and ethics,” one person wrote.
