Commuters using the Outer Ring Road (ORR) stretch near HSR Layout will face temporary diversions as the service road between the 9th Main Road Junction and the 5th Main Road Junction has been closed for Namma Metro construction. The closure, announced by the Bengaluru Traffic Police, will remain in effect for 45 days starting from October 6, 2025.The advisory stated that the closure is required to facilitate ongoing works by the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL). As a result, vehicles travelling from the Iblur Junction towards the Silk Board Junction have been advised to take the 14th Main Road flyover and continue along the main carriageway to reach the 5th Main Road Junction.Alternatively, motorists can use the internal roads within HSR Layout to proceed towards Silk Board and Hosur Main Road. The BMRCL is constructing the Blue Line of Namma Metro, officially known as the ORR–Airport Metro Line, and is now scheduled for completion by December 2027. The line is divided into two key sections: Phase 2A, which runs from Central Silk Board to Krishnarajapura (K.R. Puram), and Phase 2B, which extends from K.R. Puram to Kempegowda International Airport (KIA). Published - October 08, 2025 08:30 pm IST
