As many as 1,116 establishments in Tiruchi region have registered till now under the Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana (PMVBRY), which is a flagship employment-linked incentive scheme of the Government of India designed to promote and support job creation, enhance employability and incentivise additional employment in the formal sector.The new scheme provides financial incentives to both employers and first-time employees in establishments registered with the Employee Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO), Ashish Kumar Tripathi, Regional Provident Fund Commissioner-I, EPFO, Regional Office, Tiruchi, has said. Implemented through EPFO, the response to the scheme has been positive, Mr. Tripathi told The Hindu on Wednesday. The registration period of the scheme is from August 1, 2025 to July 31, 2027 with its total outlay being ₹99,446 crore.The EPFO, Regional Office, Tiruchi, which has under its jurisdiction 12 districts, has been reaching out to employers, employees and industrial associations, sensitising them to the new scheme and the benefits under it. The awareness meetings were being carried out through webinars and physical interactions by officials of EPFO, Tiruchi.The meetings are a continuous exercise aimed at bringing more employers and first-time employees under the scheme. Similar meetings are also held at colleges by driving home the benefits of the scheme and about the UAN to final year students, who will become prospective employees.The PMVBRY comprises two parts: Part A focussing on first time employees registered with the EPFO and the incentive to them and Part B focussing on support to employers. Employees with gross wages up to ₹1 lakh are eligible. Incentive of up to ₹15,000 for first-time employees registered with EPFO is provided in two instalments.The first instalment will be payable after six months of service and the second instalment payable after 12 months upon completion of mandatory financial literacy course.Under Part B, incentives would be provided to the employers for generating additional employment. The additional employee could be a first timer or a rejoinee. Incentives would be provided to employers of all sectors for two years and four years for the manufacturing sector.To avail the incentive, employers with less than 50 employees will be required to hire at least two additional employees. Employers with 50 or more employees will have to hire at least five additional employees.The compliance requirements under the scheme for employers is submission of GST and PAN linked bank account details, while it is UAN authentication with Face Authentication Technology and Aadhar linked bank account using UMANG App for the employees.
