The stray dog that had bitten a theatre artiste during an awareness play on stray dog menace at Kandakkai, Mayyil in Kannur district of Kerala was found dead on Tuesday (October 7, 2025) evening.The dog’s carcass was found near a library premises, sparking concern among local residents.Artiste P. Radhakrishnan was bitten by the dog while performing in the one-act play Pekkolam, which carried a message against street dog attacks. The play was staged at Kandakkaiparamba on Sunday night. Mr. Radhakrishnan sustained injuries to his hands and legs.The attack happened when a barking sound effect was played through the microphone, triggering the dog nearby.Mistaking it for part of the act, the audience initially continued watching the play, until organisers rushed to Mr. Radhakrishnan’s aid.
