Now a Cartier friend of the house, The Apprentice actor says the brand’s watches are ‘instantly classic’ and the 2 timepieces have a ‘strong, masculine energy’
Now a proud Cartier friend of the house, the Romanian-born American actor unveiled two new additions to the Parisian brand’s Santos family: Santos Titanium and Santos Black Dial.
Cartier’s Santos watch, created in 1904 by Louis Cartier for aviation pioneer Alberto Santos-Dumont, holds a storied legacy as one of the first men’s wristwatches.
The French jeweller and watchmaker’s latest Santos designs include the new Santos Titanium, which in many ways resembles its predecessor, but this matte model is crafted from titanium that is 43 per cent lighter yet 1.5 times tougher than steel. On the other hand, the Santos Black Dial’s large all-steel frame sets itself apart with a black dial with a half-satin, half-sunburst finish, illuminated by fluorescent Super-LumiNova hands.
“They both have a strong, masculine energy. I’m really into how Cartier explores materials and plays with that hardware aesthetic – I think it reflects the maison’s creativity in a powerful way,” Stan said.
