Source identities suspect who allegedly trafficked HK$90,000 worth of drugs as Forest Tang, 18, who remains at large after escaping hospital

A suspect with a triad background arrested for drug trafficking has been on the run since fleeing from North District Hospital on Monday, with Hong Kong police urging anyone with information to come forward.

Police said that the 18-year-old escaped from the hospital in Sheung Shui at around 5.45pm on Monday. He was admitted last Saturday after being arrested on suspicion of drug trafficking and various driving offences.

A source familiar with the matter identified the suspect as Forest Tang, allegedly an active member of the Wo Shing Wo triad group in Yuen Long.

The teenager was arrested last Saturday for trafficking etomidate cartridges, cocaine, ketamine, cannabis buds and methamphetamine worth HK$90,000 (US$11,560) with the help of a 22-year-old man.
