Anantapur has been selected as the Best Swachha District among all the districts in the State. Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu will be giving away the State-level Swachha Andhra awards at a function to be held in Vijayawada on Monday. Anantapur, Nandyal and Kurnool districts bagged the awards in various categories.

Anantapur District Collector O. Anand will receive the Swachha District Award-2025 from Mr. Chandrababu Naidu. Mr. Anand said the award could be achieved with the cooperation of the people of the district. He also congratulated the district to village level officials, sanitation workers, elected representatives and representatives of NGOs for the district achieving the award.

In Swaccha Municipalities category, Tadipatri Municipality in Anantapur district bagged the award under the one lakh to three lakh population category. SS Palm Tree Villas Association in Kurnool was selected for the Swachha Colonies award while Nandyal-based ‘Mana Ooru, Mana Gudi, Mana Bhadyatha’ (our village, our temple, our responsibility) NGO that took the initiative to clean temples and temple ponds in the State and also other places has won the Best Swachha NGO award.
