Angela Rayner was accused of a 'shameless' waste of public money after her taxpayer-funded bodyguards ferried her partner around in an £80,000 car and helped move belongings into her second home.
Pictures published exclusively in the Mail on Sunday show two close-protection officers helping Ms Rayner's on-off partner Sam Tarry move bags and boxes in a BMW X5 between their two homes.
The highly trained security experts and their specialised SUV are paid for from the public purse to protect Ms Rayner at a cost of thousands of pounds a day.
But the former Deputy Prime Minister was nowhere to be seen as the bodyguards drove Mr Tarry and a series of boxes from her £800,000 seaside flat in Hove, East Sussex, to his £450,000 flat in Brighton around three miles away.
The bodyguards then loaded the car up with bags taken from Mr Tarry's home and whisked them back to Ms Rayner's flat.
