The purposely delayed arrival of actor and Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam founder president Vijay to the rally led to the recent stampede in Karur, in which 41 persons lost their lives and several others were injured, Tamil Nadu Assembly Speaker M. Appavu has said.“After acting on the silver screen, Mr. Vijay is acting on the instructions of Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Hence, they are running to Delhi after the tragedy as a damage control measure,” he told reporters on Friday.On omission of Mr. Vijay’s name in the FIR registered with regard to the stampede, the Speaker said the Tamil Nadu Government was not afraid of anyone and had taken every right move.
