The Tiruchi District Cyber Crime police on Friday arrested three more persons on charges of setting fire to a vinyl banner embossed with an image of Lord Ram within the premises of ‘Ayindham Tamizhar Sangam’ at Ayanputhur village near Tiruchi recently.The names of the three arrested persons were given as R. Thilageswaran, 31, of Sithankottai in Ramanathapuram district, K. Napoleon, 31, of Athanur in Namakkal district, and S. Vasanthkumar, 28, of Nedumanur in Kallakurichi district, a police press release said on Friday. The police on Thursday arrested S. Adaikalaraj, 36, of Kavarapatti in Pudukottai district on the same charge and remanded him in judicial custody. The Tiruchi District Cyber Crime police had registered a case on Thursday under various sections of the BNS acting on a complaint preferred by constable Karthik attached to the Social Media wing.A group belonging to the ‘Ayindham Tamizhar Sangam’ organised a dawn-to-dusk “Aasivaga Thirumaal Vazhikaatu Vizha” on September 28 in which around 100 persons participated. On the same night, some persons of the Sangam slapped a vinyl banner embossed with the image of Lord Ram with a footwear and set it afire. They shared a clip of their act on the social media platforms. The group members sung a song glorifying Ravana. The release further said investigation was on in the case.
