A Delhi court on Friday (October 3, 2025) sent Chaitanyananda Saraswati i, former director of the Shri Sharada Institute of Indian Management and Research in Vasant Kunj, to 14 days judicial remand. He was accused of accused of sexual harassment of female students, cheating, forgery and criminal conspiracy.Delhi Police had produced Mr Saraswati (62) before Judicial Magistrate Animesh Kumar on expiry of his five-day police custody. He was apprehended from Agra on September 28.Police, last week, froze ₹8 crore, linked to his multiple bank accounts and fixed deposits after FIRs were lodged against him on the complaints of students.According to the FIR, Mr. Saraswati, who was removed from his post in the institution soon after the matter came to light, had allegedly forced female students to visit his quarters late at night and sent them inappropriate text messages at odd hours.He allegedly kept track of the students’ movements through his phone.During the investigation, it was revealed that the accused allegedly used different names and particulars to operate multiple bank accounts and withdrew over ₹50 lakh after the FIR was registered against him.He had allegedly submitted documents with varying particulars at the time of account opening.Police also found fake visiting cards from him showing him associated with the United Nations and BRICS.
