Chaitanyananda apprehended in Agra, police get five days’ custody

Swami Chaitanyananda Saraswati, the former director of the Sharada Institute of Indian Management-Research in Vasant Kunj, who has been accused of sexually harassing 17 women students, as well as cheating, forgery, and criminal conspiracy, was apprehended from Agra on Sunday. He was produced before a court by the Delhi police.The court remanded Mr. Chaitanyananda (62) to five days’ police custody for questioning. He had been on the run, and the police finally tracked him to a hotel in Agra at 3:30 a.m. on Sunday (September 28, 2025). Published - September 28, 2025 07:27 am IST
