House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) is raising eyebrows for an exchange he had with Pennsylvania Democratic Rep. Madeleine Dean in which he seems to agree with her criticism about President Donald Trump.
Video taken Wednesday shows Dean explaining to Johnson that Trump proved he was unfit to be president after his speech earlier this week before the nation’s top military leaders during which he said, among other things, that he may use the armed forces to fight “the enemy within.”
After Dean told the House speaker point-blank that “the president is unhinged. He is unwell,” Johnson didn’t appear to disagree, instead attempting some whataboutism.
“A lot of folks on your side are too,” he said, adding, “I don’t control him.”
Dean fired back, “Oh my god, please. That performance in front of the generals?”
