Tamil Nadu Governor R.N. Ravi on Thursday (October 2, 2025) hailed the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) on its completion of 100 years.“This Vijayadashmi, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh completes 100 years of its uninterrupted journey of nation-building, through character building of individual citizens. During all these years, the RSS has done yeoman service to the people and the country,” Raj Bhavan Tamil Nadu said in a post on X, quoting Mr. Ravi.“Whenever the nation or any part of it has suffered a natural disaster, like earthquakes, devastating floods, cyclones, landslides, or epidemics, the RSS Swayamsevaks have been among the first responders for rescue and relief of the victims,” it said.“Thousands of Swayamsevaks dedicated their entire life serving the people, living in the far flung inaccessible areas along international borders, remote corners of the Northeast, or tribal villages, usually in dense forests and hills in various parts of the country, where governments could not reach for decades after Independence. Its contributions to the national awakening among citizens is without a parallel,” Mr. Ravi said.According to him, all through its journey, the RSS has been an ardent champion of Swadeshi and “social justice”.
