“Daily Show” host Jon Stewart on Monday slammed President Donald Trump for abandoning “reality” in his plan to deploy federal troops to “war ravaged” Portland, Oregon, the site of protests against his immigration crackdown.
Trump, in an interview with NBC News, suggested that his aides told him that people are “literally attacking” each other and there are “fires all over the place” in Portland.
“And dragons! There be dragons!” added Stewart.
Moments earlier, the comedian knocked Trump for focusing on the city amid an “orgy of mass shootings” over the weekend.
He turned to Trump’s “telling” response to Oregon Gov. Tina Kotek, who tried to explain to the president over the phone that Portland wasn’t in a “state of war.”
