Ruben Amorim has recalled Tyrell Malacia to the Manchester United first-team squad after the club failed to sell the Dutch full back in the summer.

In July, United announced that Malacia, along with Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, Antony and Alejandro Garnacho, would train away from the rest of the squad after informing the club that they wanted to leave.

Of that so-called “bomb squad”, Malacia was the only player to not secure a move away from Old Trafford in the summer transfer window despite interest from Elche, the Spanish club, and the Turkish top-flight team Eyupspor.

Amorim has come under heavy pressure in recent weeks following a number of poor results
