Puducherry Lieutenant Governor K. Kailashnathan on Saturday (September 27, 2025) said that Vedic philosophy remains relevant in the modern-day world, as it encompasses the universal nature of humanity.“Some may wonder what role the Vedas play in a world driven by technology, science, and globalisation. But to me, the Vedas are not relics of the past; they are guiding lights of the future. In their essence, the Vedas teach us that the entire universe is one family — Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam. This ancient vision resonates strongly with today’s global need for harmony and cooperation,” he said.Mr. Kailashnathan was speaking at the first anniversary of Vedic Vidya Kendra at Kalapat, alongside the Governor of Gujarat and Maharashtra Acharya Devvrat. The Lt. Governor said Vedic philosophy has more relevance in a world of global uncertainties. He also highlighted the spiritual significance of Puducherry.Mr. Devvrat, in his address, complimented Arya Samaj and DAV School Chennai for their contribution towards spreading Vedic philosophy, and in the field of education. Before attending the anniversary celebrations of Vedic Vidya Kendra, Mr. Devvrat visited Auroville. He toured Matrimandir and participated in meditation. G. Seetharaman, Officer on Special Duty of Auroville Foundation briefed the Governor about ongoing development works and activities undertaken by the foundation.
