The people of Tamil Nadu, who are panicked by heinous crimes and frustrated over rampant corruption, will remove the DMK from power, Tamil Maanila Congress (Moopanar) president G.K. Vasan has said.Addressing the press here on Friday, he said law and order situation in Tamil Nadu was at its worst as the unprecedented rise in crimes against women and children, murders, burglary, etc., had created panic among the people. To make things worse, corruption at all levels, drug abuse and alcoholism had assumed new dimensions in Tamil Nadu under the DMK rule.Since the DMK government, led by Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, could not find any effective solution to these heinous crimes occurring every day, the people, who had lost peace, were so keen on removing this government through ballots.“The DMK, which is hoping of fetching votes by giving false promises and attractive freebies, can never win the people’s trust again. The National Democratic Alliance is working overtime to neutralise this hoodwinking by creating awareness among the people of Tamil Nadu. Hence, the panicked and disappointed voters will remove the DMK from power,” said Mr. Vasan, and welcomed all political parties and movements, which want the ouster of the DMK from power, to join the NDA.He also criticised the State government for its “callous handling” of ongoing protests by sanitary workers and transport employees.Mr. Vasan said electioneering for the 2026 Assembly polls had already been set in motion in Tamil Nadu by political parties, including actor Vijay’s Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam.
