Dindigul Collector S. Saravanan inaugurated the annual Co-optex Deepavali sale at the Co-optex showroom in Anna Trade Centre on Thursday. Sales target of ₹1.40 crore has been set for the Co-optex showrooms in the district for this festival season, he said.The Collector, in a statement, said a special discount of 30% is offered on silk and cotton varieties to promote the sale of handloom products. The Co-optex showrooms in the district offers a wide range of new designs that included Kancheepuram, Arani, Salem, Thirubhuvanam silk saris, soft silk and kora cotton saris from Coimbatore, Sungudi saris, silk dhotis and other handloom products from Coimbatore, Kancheepuram, Chettinad, Salem, Paramakudi, Dindigul, Chinnalapatti and Aruppukottai.Customers can purchase the products from Co-optex showrooms and through the e-commerce website. They can also opt for the monthly savings scheme for purchasing the handloom products, the Collector said.Last year’s Deepavali sales at the Anna trade centre showroom was ₹52.41 lakh. The Deepavali sales target for the festival season this year at Anna trade centre showroom has been fixed at ₹75 lakh, he said.
