Even as the AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami demanded a white paper on the investments brought in by the DMK government, the Industry Minister TRB Raja had shown a white paper mocking the Leader of Opposition.Taking a dig at the Industry Minister, Mr Palaniswami appealed to the public to show the doors to the DMK in the ensuing general election in 2026.He was speaking at a well attended public meeting organised by the AIADMK party in Vedasandur Assembly segment in Dindigul district. As a part of the “Makkalai Kaapom...,Tamizhagathai Meetpom” State-wide campaign, he said that the DMK leaders should be taught a lesson for their rude behaviour and mocking the opposition parties. He said that when he had sought Chief Minister M. K. Stalin to table a white paper on the big ticket investments in the State since the DMK came to power in 2021, Mr Raja had reportedly shown a white paper. He asked: “Is this the way for a Minister to respond.... Should we not show them the doors for their arrogance,” he said.He said that Dindigul district was the fort of the AIADMK as the party won its first electoral battle from here on its inception. He was confident that the public would throw away the DMK and let the AIADMK rule the State again.Only during the AIADMK regime, the people were safe and secure. For the poor and needy, he said, the party had taken due care like a mother’s affection towards her children. The AIADMK’s populist welfare schemes such as ‘thaaliku thangam’ (gold for marriage), scooter for women, laptops for students and among others would be resumed, when the party was voted back to power. He said that districts like Dindigul which depended on agriculture, the ‘kudimaramathu’ scheme would be revived. The DMK had the audacity to suspend them, but he assured that the AIADMK, if elected, would bring it back.He also said that the DMK promised 150 day wage (from 100 days), but had failed. He wanted the people to be cautious while casting their votes in 2026 election. He said that the DMK government had increased power tariff so much that spinning mills in Dindigul district faced numerous hardships. When the industry itself was faced with various external challenges, the government should support them. Here, the DMK government had neglected the Opposition’s suggestions and thus he wanted the people to punish. The AIADMK repeatedly cautioned the DMK government about the huge influx of narcotics substances in Tamil Nadu around 2022 in the Assembly. However, the Chief Minister denied then, but now appeals to the people to keep a distance from narcotics and claims to have taken action. It was nothing but lies, he charged.Only when the AIADMK ruled the State, infrastructure facilities were dedicated and to justify the point, he said that DIndigul district benefited through the government medical college and hospital built by them at ₹350 crore.DIndigul C Srinivasan and other leaders participated in the meeting.
