Adverts for a company that posed as a 'British' clothing firm that was actually shipping goods from a warehouse in Asia have been banned by the regulator.
The Advertising Standards Authority found that Marble Muse misled consumers into thinking it was a British-based brand with its use of images of the Union flag and models walking along cobbled streets and in gardens surrounded by roses.
The firm's website, seen in May, featured an image of a handbag set against a city street backdrop, above text that read 'British Brand' alongside a Union flag icon and the text 'Free UK Shipping'.
Further down the page, an image showed a woman carrying a Marble Muse handbag while crossing a cobbled street framed by townhouses and shops.
'Every thread tells a story. Each piece is designed with timeless elegance and modern precision, crafted with the utmost care and dedication,' the website reads, adding the Marble Muse collection embodies 'sophistication confidence and sustainability'.
