In 2023 Nash released his seventh solo album, Now, and he has published several photography books. He has three adult children from his second marriage and lives in New York with his third wife, the artist Amy Grantham.
I’m a night owl so my alarm doesn’t get me up until 9.15am. When I was recording with David Crosby and Stephen Stills, we’d wear ourselves out in the studio until 4am, intent on making the best record we could.
For the past five years I’ve been doing transcendental meditation in the morning. It involves calming myself down and resting my brain. David Lynch, the late film director, arranged lessons as a gift for my wife, Amy, and me. I also go to the gym three times a week to tone up my body.
Breakfast is usually just coffee and vitamins, or occasionally eggs, chips and beans. I haven’t eaten meat for six years. Amy is a vegetarian and got me into juices, so I’ll have one for lunch.
