Sept. 23 (UPI) -- Chile-based LATAM Group said it has placed an order for up to 74 aircraft from Brazilian manufacturer Embraer. The E195-E2 narrow-body aircraft will join the fleet of Latin America's largest airline group, with 24 firm orders and 50 purchase options.

The 24-aircraft order is valued at about $2.1 billion at list prices, the company said in a press release. Deliveries will begin in the second half of 2026, starting with LATAM Airlines Brazil, and could in the future be operated by other subsidiaries in the group.

Since 2021, LATAM has expanded its passenger network from 129 to 160 destinations, a 24% increase.

"Over the past four years, LATAM Group has focused on expanding its domestic and regional network," said Roberto Alvo, CEO of LATAM Airlines Group.
