A private equity banker handed himself and his team a £6.3million bonus as they plotted a secret move to a rival firm, a court has heard.
Adam Wheeler is at the centre of a High Court battle over claims he orchestrated an 'egregious' move where he and 12 other colleagues resigned the day after they received the multi-million pound bonus.
Mr Wheeler - who earned in £4million in 2023 alone - is accused of 'surreptitiously' establishing Corinthia while coordinating a 'mass resignation' from Barings Investment Services (BISL).
He allegedly proposed a £6.3million bonus for him and the 12 members of his team as they jumped ship - timing it for 'the day after' the huge bonus.
The banking executive is being sued over a 'conflict of interest' and for 'deliberately concealing' the move.
