Sept. 23 (UPI) -- David Montgomery raced for a career-high 151 yards, while the Detroit Lions defense sacked Lamar Jackson seven times to beat the Baltimore Ravens in Baltimore.
Montgomery, who scored twice with 31- and 1-yard runs, ripped off an additional 72-yard scamper in the 38-30 victory Monday at M&T Bank Stadium.
Fellow Lions running back Jahmyr Gibbs logged 99 yards from scrimmage. The Lions out-gained the Ravens 224 to 85 on the ground.
"It's really important to keep the horse blinders on when you are in the midst of the mud," Montgomery told reporters. "We've got the best group up front in the league. They did exactly what I knew they would do and we had fun."
Aidan Hutchinson logged a sack and a crucial forced fumble on Ravens running back Derrick Henry, which was recovered by cornerback D.J. Reed. Fellow Lions edge rusher Al-Quadin Muhammad sacked Jackson 2.5 times.
