Assam’s iconic singer-composer Zubeen Garg was cremated with State honours at Kamarkuchi village in Sonapur, about 30 km east of Guwahati, on Tuesday (September 23, 2025).
Garg’s mortal remains, draped in Assamese gamosa and kept inside a temperature-controlled glass coffin, were taken to the site from the Arjun Bhogeswar Baruah Sports Complex in a flower-decked ambulance. His 85-year-old father Mohini Mohan Borthakur, wife Garima Saikia Garg, and other family members and relatives accompanied him on his final journey.
