The Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, will collaborate with U.S.-based manufacturing firm, Caterpillar Inc., to undertake joint research on cutting-edge technologies.
The research areas include Advanced Manufacturing, AI and Data Science, Mechanical Engineering, Autonomous Mining Equipment, Gas Turbines and Engines, and Batteries and Fuel Cells, a press release said.
An MoU was signed recently by Bhuvan Anadakrishnan, Vice President - Engineering, and Country Manager, Caterpillar Inc.; V. Kamakoti, Director, IIT Madras; Manu Santhanam, Dean (ICSR), IIT Madras; and Shaikh Faruque Ali, Associate Professor, Department of Applied Mechanics, IIT Madras.
