Winning team
Saraswathi Narayanan College, Perungudi, Madurai, won the overall champions title in the Madurai Kamaraj University Weightlifting Competition 2025-2026 held at SRNM College. The team secured a total of seven medals-2 Gold, 3 Silver, and 2 Bronze. The winners were K.S. Raj Kumar, R.J. Venkatesan, B. Umanath, J. Subash, D. Prakash Raj, R. Ajay Kumar, and V. Thirumurugan. Principal M.R. Chandran, and other staff members appreciated the students for their commendable performance.

The Department of Commerce, Lady Doak College, celebrated its Golden Jubilee. Head of the Department P. Vanitha Malarvizhi highlighted the department’s contributions to commerce education. Principal R. Beulah Jeyashree praised the department’s growth. Chief guest R.M. Nagammai, a former Head of the Department, urged the faculty to pursue research guideship to help the department evolve into a research centre. Former Heads of the Department Latha S. Nair and T. Margaret shared their experiences and future visions for the department. Rosy Godwin emphasised that the department’s success is a result of ‘TEAM’ (Together Everyone Achieves More). The Golden Jubilee Endowment Scholarships were launched. It aims to provide financial aid to deserving students. Assistant Professor Angel Christy Praveena C proposed a vote of thanks.
